USE OF CITY PLAYGROUNDS AND PARKS

In accordance with the Franklin County Stay at Home Order issued by the Franklin County Public Health Officer on March 24, 2020, the City of Ottawa placed signs on all playgrounds and shelter houses in city parks. Caution tape was also used to help discourage use. As of today, the caution tape has been removed, extreme caution advisory is urged due to COVID-19.

Signs stating that use is at the public’s risk will remain in place. Any users of these facilities need to understand that they are not sanitized nor cleaned on the frequency that is required to kill COVID-19. Use of playground equipment and shelter houses is at your own risk. It is recommended that anyone using public playground equipment and shelter houses use hand sanitizer before and after use.
