OTTAWA KANSAS, August 21, 2018– The City of Ottawa is launching a new way for citizens to receive alerts about important information. Citizens may sign up to receive text alerts or recorded voice messages. The City is planning on using this system to send out alerts for critical issues such as boil orders, prolonged power outages or similar events. The system will not be used for weather alerts, amber/silver alerts, community events/festivals or marketing purposes. Individual
