The City of Ottawa presents the 312th Army Band from Lawrence, KS in concert. The concert is free and open to the public.
The 312th Army Band is led by Commander and Bandmaster CW2 Nicholas Proctor, and 1SG Cardell Edwards. The program will include concert band, brass band, and large popular music rock group and will feature genres of music ranging from patriotic and traditional marches to rock music. Featured soloists will be SGT Ash Reynolds, vocalist and SPC Ryan Koesterer on piccolo. Courtney Nichols, Ottawa High School Band director will also be guest conducting. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program The 312th Army Band was activated on October 1, 1973 in Lawrence, KS. The 312th Army Band currently features a marching band, concert band, jazz band, rock band, jazz combo, blues band, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, and ceremonial detail. The band is made up of 40 members of the U.S. Army, all of which are trained musicians. They travel across the country promoting Army and community relations by providing quality entertainment. The band is also known for its ability to lift the spirits of U.S. troops and civilians alike. They have traveled the world playing concerts for members of the U.S. military to lift their morale. The 312th Army Band is currently under the 88th Regional Support Command (88th RSC), Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, commanded by Major General Patrick J. Reinert and Brigadier General Stephen E. Strand, Deputy Commanding General.
